2015 Auschwitz Trip Information

This year we are excited to announce a special opportunity: Eva will lead a tour of Auschwitz in January 2015, corresponding with the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the camp. The trip will include the official commemoration ceremony on January 27, to be attended by many survivors, dignitaries, and heads of state. Eva will also plan to lead the regular summer tour in June for those who are unable to join us on the winter tour.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the genocide of the Tutsi people in Rwanda. The world’s leading authorities on genocide remembrance, study, and prevention have launched a commem- orative program called “Kwibuka20” with a mission to “remember, unite, and renew” global efforts to make “Never Again” a reality.

Vision Statement

CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center is the only organization in the world dedicated to the memory of the twin victims and survivors of medical experimentation at Auschwitz. We honor and celebrate the lives of the Mengele Twins by telling their stories to educate the world and prevent similar atrocities. Our institution is not only a witness to history but also an active voice outside the museum walls. By working to prevent genocide on a global level and transform prejudice on a local level, we aim to create a world free from hatred and genocide.

Happy Birthday, Eva!

Many thanks to all those who helped celebrate Eva's 80th birthday. Birthday greetings came in from all over the world. Here is the video tribute presented at the February 1st celebration.
